D. Rubin Green

bio

D. Rubin Green is a gifted actor/writer whose work can be seen on Showtime, Netfilx, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and screened at numerous national and international film festivals. Shot during the pandemic — his most recent work, THE SISTERS KARRAS is now making its journey through this year’s national and international festival circuit. He’s a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.

As a writer, he is a Fellow of the Sundance Screenwriters' Institute for his screenplay, ST. FELICIA OF JERSEY CITY. He has also had work produced and performed at Symphony Space NYC; HERE Theater & Performance Space 122. He is a published poet and essayist.

He is committed to projects that expand and deepen the image and stories of BiPoc and LGBTQ people.

Film Work: AUGUST THE FIRST, (Showtime, Film Movement), SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE (Amazon Prime, Netfix, iTunes, Film Movement),  THE HUNTER’S ANTHOLOGY (Tubi) and the horror classic JACOB’S LADDER. His voice work is featured on Harlem Queen (Apple Podcasts).

He’s a veteran of well over 30 theater productions, including Classical Theater of Harlem, NY Theater Workshop, Soho Rep.

Mr. Green teaches Screenwriting, Acting for Directors & Writers, and History of Theater at NYFA - NY Film Academy and Borough of Manhattan Community College - BMCC / CUNY.
